Boiler "Bomb" Terrifies Gas Workers

A pair of gas fitters fled for their lives when confronted with what appeared to be a bomb, The Sun reports. It seems a disgruntled tenant didn't want workmen in his home, but for health & safety reasons the local council finally forced their way in, only to find a device "with wires and red flashing lights" attached to the boiler.

Thankfully the bomb was a hoax, placed by the tenant to disrupt the work on his central heating system. What possesses someone to do something so silly we just can't fathom!

Needless to say the householder is now in hot water, with a Royal Navy bomb disposal unit called out and a police inquiry in progress. Maybe he'll just take the free boiler service next time!
